17 Ways to Tell Someone Is a Democrat

Nobody should be stereotyped based on one aspect of their identity. However, there are certainly signs you can look out for when you’re trying to determine someone’s political persuasion. Here are 17 ways to tell whether someone is a Democrat.

As well as showing their support for raising the minimum wage, Democrats commonly express concern about income inequality, especially when it comes to minority or disadvantaged groups. Many Democrats believe that re-educating and supporting criminals is more effective than merely punishing them. Because of this, among several other reasons, Democrats often believe in reforming the criminal justice system.

Affordable Housing Initiatives

In alignment with their belief that everyone deserves a high quality of life and comfortable living space, many Democrats support affordable housing initiatives. Democrats and Republicans usually seem to be rather divided on the topic of women’s reproductive rights. While many Republicans see abortion as the taking of an innocent life, most Democrats see it as a necessity for preserving the rights of women and their bodily autonomy.
