In a passionate and grammatically confusing Truth Social Christmas post, former president Donald Trump expressed his hatred for “electric car lunacy” and its supporters. He also took a swipe at US Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith, among a host of others.
A MAGA outlet
Truth Social is a social media platform created by Trump Media & Technology Group, which was founded by Trump. The platform closely resembles X (formerly Twitter) in both appearance and function and was launched after the former president was banned from the original site in January 2021.
Trump’s confusing Christmas Day post followed on from a series of posts made on Christmas Eve in which he had already started an attack on Jack Smith, who is currently prosecuting him for two criminal cases. He called Smith a “deranged prosecutor” who was “merely serving … [crooked Joe Biden’s] wishes.”
Fiery festive message
The Christmas Day post began, “Merry Christmas to all, including Crooked Joe Biden’s ONLY HOPE, Deranged Jack Smith, the out of control Lunatic who just hired outside attorneys, fresh from the SWAMP (unprecedented!), to help him with his poorly executed WITCH HUNT against “TRUMP” and “MAGA.””
The post continued, “Included also are World Leaders, both good and bad, but none of which are as evil and “sick” as the THUGS we have inside our Country who, with their Open Borders, INFLATION, Afghanistan Surrender, Green New Scam, High Taxes, No Energy Independence, Woke military, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Iran, All Electric Car Lunacy, and so much more, are looking to destroy our once great USA.”
Merry Christmas indeed
Trump’s rant to his followers finally finished with a wish for everyone he’d mentioned: “MAY THEY ROT IN HELL. AGAIN, MERRY CHRISTMAS!” Unsurprisingly, his posts for the day didn’t end there.
Santa’s a Republican
The former president went on to post a short video clip of his appearance in the movie Home Alone 2, followed by a photo of someone dressed up as Santa holding a sign that reads, “SANTA VOTED TRUMP.”
The electric vehicle hate seems to be one of Trump’s newer fixations. In September, the former president spoke at a Detroit rally and claimed that EVs “don’t go far enough” and are “too expensive.”
Trump also shared a post on Truth Social on the matter, claiming that the vehicles are a “hoax,” that all the cars would be made in China, and that the shift to EVs would destroy the automotive industry and jobs in the country.
Current President Joe Biden took a different approach with his Christmas message. A video posted to X showed the White House’s festive holiday decorations, and the president and his wife can be heard reading “The Night Before Christmas” in the background.
Rants and accusations
Trump’s chaotic Christmas Day post is just one of his many recent tirades. He started off the New Year with another accusation that people are out to get him, accusing “American Disaster Liz Cheney, who suffers from TDS (Trump Derangement Syndrome),” of illegally deleting and destroying evidence.
The former president is currently facing several legal challenges, along with the prospect of not being included on the primary ballots in the states of Colorado and Maine. Trump denies all charges against him and is continuing to dispute claims.
