“Far out” was used by boomers to show they were amazed or approved of something, linking back to a time of colorful music and space discovery. Now, the phrase is more of a nostalgic memory than a common saying.

“Can you dig it?” was the ’70s way of asking if you get the picture or are on board. Think of it as the vintage “you feel me?” But today, we’re more about that crystal-clear, jargon-free communication.

“Peace and love” was the boomer’s bread and butter, straight from the era of bell-bottoms and peace signs. While we’re still all for spreading good vibes, we’ve now swapped flower crowns for emojis –  but the sentiment is still as groovy as ever!

“Right on”

Baby boomers used “right on” as an affirmation, a nod of agreement that was as common as vinyl records. Now, we have as many ways to say “yes” as there are songs on our playlists, showing our love for all kinds of ideas and expressions.

“What’s your bag?”

This slang phrase was a boomer’s way of asking about your hobbies or problems. Nowadays, we simply ask, “What are you into?” or “What’s on your mind?” to learn more about someone’s interests or concerns.

“Lay it on me” was used to invite others to speak openly. Today, we’re still all ears, but our invitations to share thoughts are as crisp and clear as the audio on our smart speakers, emphasizing openness and clarity.

“Catch you on the flip side”
